Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s, the Pilates method uses a whole-body approach to gaining strength and improving function by accessing your deepest core and stabilizing muscles. The exercises focus on alignment, precision, breath, balance, concentration and flow as a foundation for building strength and flexibility throughout the whole body. Pilates helps gain control of the body through all ranges of motion and is a safe and effective way to tone and strengthen when performed correctly with appropriate modifications.

Pilates Equipment Classes
All the springs, bars, and wheels might seem a little overwhelming at first. However, Pilates equipment classes may provide a challenging strength and endurance workout using the resistance of the springs to either assist the body into optimal alignment and success, or to resist the body to increase the challenge. Mindful Movement offers group Pilates classes using Balanced Body® studio reformers, studio Towers and Exo chairs. Class size is limited to 6 participants per class.
